Coaching: Developing new perspectives and finding the right solution for you.
Frequently Asked Questions about Coaching
What is Coaching?
People usually have all the resources needed for their desired development and change. This is the reason why coaching is a process support: As a coach I help you to find access to your – sometimes unconscious – resources. I am a companion for your self-directed solution finding.
Coaching is therefore not a consultation. You will not get any advice from me on what you should do. However, I am happy to bring in my own experience as a manager and my expertise in strategy development, marketing and communication.
As a coach, I use my experience in solution-oriented methods and techniques, which can expand one’s own perception, thereby providing more clarity and thus new options for action.
The use of methods is individually tailored to your request, including i.e.
- Solution-focused short-term therapy according to Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg
- Neurolinguistic programming (NLP)
- Non-violent communication according to Marshall B. Rosenberg
- Hypnotherapy by Milton H. Erickson. Here we use relaxation processes to bring the unconscious into consciousness and make it usable.
- Bodywork
Since very sensitive issues may be discussed in a coaching session, absolute confidentiality is a matter of course for me. This also applies if my client is your employer.
My work is based on the ethical standards of the International Coach Federation (ICF).
For which topics is coaching suitable?
Coaching is suitable for any kind of change such as processes of reorientation, change of behavior or personality development in private or professional life.
What does "systemic" coaching mean?
“Nobody is an island“ – John Donne
During our lifetime, we are integrated into very different “social systems,” where we meet other people: These include our family, the company at which we work or clubs where we spend our free time.
Our behavior and that of others is mutually dependent. This means that every change in behavior that we display requires a change in these larger systems and vice versa.
It is therefore important in a coaching process to question the effects a certain desired change will have on your environment and how it can be implemented as “ecologically” as possible.
Is coaching only something for managers?
Coaching is suitable for employees and specialists at all levels of the hierarchy who are confronted with professional challenges, upheaval or stress situations, or anyone that wants to take advantage of new opportunities and would like to have outside support.
Can I come to you privately?
Yes, many of my clients pay for their coaching privately. Under certain conditions, coaching in a professional context is tax deductible in Germany. Please speak to a tax consultant.
What are the steps in the coaching process?
During a complimentary phone call (approx. 20-30 minutes), we discuss your topics and find out whether I am the right coach for you. I will explain my coaching approach and conditions, and will be happy to answer your questions.
If you decide on a coaching, we will arrange a first appointment. The coaching will take place in my coaching room, or if you prefer, in your company office, via Zoom or MS Teams.
A coaching session usually lasts at least 90 minutes. Experience has shown that coaching is a very effective method, so that you usually achieve tangible results for yourself after just one or a few appointments. You can therefore decide from time to time if and when you want a follow-up appointment.
What qualifications and industry experience do you have?
I have extensive experience working in global companies in the medical technology industry, as well as in publishers and PR agencies. I have gathered around 20 years of experience in strategic market development, marketing and communication, including 12 years of experience as a manager both at national and international level.
As a coach, it is not necessary that I have a background in your specific industry. . My primary focus is placed on processes, structures and patterns in order to find meaningful starting points for transformation together with you.
However, I will bring in my experience as a manager and my expertise in strategy development, marketing and communication wherever suitable.
